How Good Acoustics Protect the Brain and Reduce Stress
Good acoustics protect attention and working memory networks from chronic disruption, reduce mental overload, and preserve cognitive resources for deep work, learning, and complex collaboration.
Lower background noise and a pleasant sound quality reduce physiological stress (cortisol levels, heart rate variability), improve sleep and overall well-being, and decrease irritability, anxiety, and frustration - people feel safer, more present, and emotionally more stable.
